On November 19, good news came from the construction project of Section 1 of the Longlong Railway! The Chongtou Village Tunnel broke through on schedule, laying a solid foundation for accelerating construction in the later stage.

The Chongtou Village Tunnel is located in Chongtou Village, Jiaoyang Town, Shanghang County. It is a single-tube double-track tunnel with a total length of 747.08 meters and a maximum buried depth of about 78 meters. After nearly 6 months of construction, the tunnel was successfully completed.

According to reports, the remaining secondary lining and invert of the tunnel are expected to be completed in mid-December this year. The entrance of the Chongtou Tunnel connects to the Xiachongtou Bridge, and the exit connects to the Guanshanting Bridge over the Xiamen-Chengdu Expressway, a control point on the entire line. The breakthrough of the entire Chongtou Village Tunnel enables the section to lay track from the large chainage end toward the small chainage end in the next step.

It is understood that the line length of Section 1 of the Longlong Railway is 30.754 kilometers, running from the Gutian Conference Site Station to the territory of Baisha Town, Shanghang County. After two years of construction, the section has made good progress. To date, there are 15 tunnel works totaling 23,970 meters, and all 15 have started construction (5 have broken through: Luotingkou No. 2 Tunnel, Dagongding No. 1 Tunnel, Dapinggang Tunnel, Honggushan Tunnel, and Chongtou Village Tunnel); there are 17 bridge works totaling 3.744 kilometers, and all 17 have started construction; there are 15 culvert works totaling 563 linear meters, and 8 have started construction. At present, 196 linear meters have been completed, accounting for 35% of the designed quantity of 563 linear meters; there are 19 subgrade sections in total, and all 19 have started construction; at present, 900,000 cubic meters of subgrade earth and rock work have been completed, accounting for 73% of the designed quantity of 1.23 million cubic meters.
