Recently, at the site of the off-site expansion project for industrial wastewater treatment with a daily capacity of 50,000 tons, located in the Shangyu Economic and Technological Development Zone of Hangzhou Bay, large construction machinery such as pile drivers and excavators are busy working, creating a bustling scene. "Since the official start of construction on August 26, more than 10 pieces of mechanical equipment have been operating at full capacity, and over 100 employees are racing against time to make progress. We are currently working on pile foundation construction and striving to complete the main works by the end of next year," Pan Weilong, general manager of Shangyu Water Treatment Development Co., Ltd., told reporters.

According to reports, Shangyu currently has a daily wastewater treatment capacity of 200,000 tons, including 100,000 tons of industrial wastewater treatment capacity, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the Shangyu Economic and Technological Development Zone of Hangzhou Bay. However, with the advancement of the "one-park" development of the chemical industry in Shaoxing City, Shangyu's wastewater treatment capacity has gradually fallen short of the needs of economic development.

To this end, Shangyu District has launched the off-site expansion project for industrial wastewater treatment with a daily capacity of 50,000 tons. In addition to building a new wastewater treatment line, supporting wastewater pipeline works will also be constructed. The off-site expansion project involves a total investment of approximately 720 million yuan and covers an area of 156.5 mu. It has been listed as one of the province's six 100-billion projects and one of Shangyu District's "Five Batches" major projects.

Shangyu Water Treatment Development Co., Ltd. will also implement digital empowerment and accelerate process innovation. The new project plans to adopt a main treatment process of "biochemical treatment + three-phase catalytic oxidation + biological filter" to ensure the continuous, stable, and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment system.
