On October 15, after 1,555 days and nights of arduous work, the Dawanshan Tunnel, the longest tunnel on the Shanxi Jingxing Expressway project and a key control project for the entire line, was successfully completed, laying a solid foundation for achieving the goal of opening the entire line to traffic within the year.

The Jingxing Expressway starts from Fengrun Town in Jingle, Shanxi in the east and ends at Heiyukou in Xingxian County in the west, with a total length of 93.86 kilometers. It is the seventh connecting line in Shanxi Province's expressway network plan of "three vertical, twelve horizontal, twelve ring, and fifteen connecting lines." Once completed, it will be of great significance for opening a provincial expressway exit between Shanxi Province and Shaanxi Province and promoting regional economic development.

The Dawanshan Tunnel is located in the Lüliang Mountains at the border between Lanxian County and Xingxian County in Lüliang City, Shanxi. The tunnel is designed as separate left and right tubes, with the left tube 10,379 meters long and the right tube 10,490 meters long, making it an extra-long tunnel. The tunnel is mainly composed of Class III and Class IV surrounding rock, with complex and variable geological conditions, large water inflow in fracture zones, and high safety risks, making it a key control project for the entire line. To complete the Dawanshan Tunnel, it is necessary to pass through the Dsz1, Dsz2, and Dsz3 ductile shear zones, as well as the F2 strike-slip fault zone and the F7 fault fracture zone. The surrounding rock is fractured and deformed, and the water inflow during construction is extremely large, with a maximum daily water inflow of 14,000 cubic meters. In addition, the entire main tunnel uses reverse-slope drainage, which greatly increases the difficulty of tunnel construction.
