On October 8, three expressway projects in Henan were approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, involving a total investment of 26.57 billion yuan. The three expressway projects are the Yexian–Lushan Expressway Project, the Wuzhi–Jiyuan Section of the Yanhuang Expressway Project, and the Gushi–Henan-Anhui Provincial Boundary Expressway Project.

Among them, the estimated total investment of the Yexian–Lushan Expressway Project is approximately 8.75 billion yuan. The project starts north of Changsongzhuang, Liancun Town, Yexian County, Pingdingshan City, and ends southwest of Yincun Village, where the Yincun Hub Interchange is set to intersect with the Zhengzhou–Luanchuan Expressway. The total length of the project is approximately 67.5 kilometers, of which 29 kilometers are in Yexian County and 38.5 kilometers in Lushan County. The entire line includes 1 extra-large bridge and 12 large bridges; 8 interchanges, including 4 hub interchanges; 2 open service areas, 1 monitoring and communications sub-center, 1 section management center, and 1 maintenance work area. The project is proposed to adopt the BOT model, and the project implementation agency is the Pingdingshan Municipal Transport Bureau. The project legal person is Henan Yelu Expressway Co., Ltd., which was established with contributions of 51%, 0.5%, 22.95%, and 25.55% from Henan Provincial Transport Development Group Co., Ltd., Henan Provincial Communications Planning & Design Institute Co., Ltd., CCCC Second Highway Engineering Co., Ltd., and Shandong Luqiao Group Co., Ltd., respectively. The construction of this project is conducive to improving the regional road network, building the Pingdingshan ring expressway, and driving regional economic and social development.

The estimated total investment of the Wuzhi–Jiyuan Section of the Yanhuang Expressway Project is approximately 13.12 billion yuan, and the project capital will be implemented in accordance with relevant national regulations. The estimated total investment of the project includes approximately 54.06 million yuan in construction and installation costs for the Zhandian South Interchange connecting line. After conditions are met, the Zhandian South Interchange connecting line will be separately approved and implemented in accordance with laws and regulations.

The project starts north of Wanglu Village, Zhulou Township, Pingyuan Urban-Rural Integration Demonstration Zone, Xinxiang City, and ends at Peigou Village, Zhicheng Town, where the Jiyuan South Hub Interchange is set, passing under the Erguang Expressway and then connecting to the Hebao Expressway. The total length of the project is approximately 99.3 kilometers. The entire line includes 3 extra-large bridges, 15 large bridges, and 11 interchanges, including 4 hub interchanges; 2 service areas, 2 maintenance work areas, and 1 monitoring sub-center. The construction of this project is conducive to improving the regional expressway network, sharing the traffic pressure of the Lianyungang–Khorgas Expressway, strengthening the connection between Henan Province and the eastern coastal areas, and driving high-quality economic and social development along the Yellow River.

The estimated total investment of the Gushi–Henan-Anhui Provincial Boundary Expressway Project is approximately 4.7 billion yuan. The project is located east of Liyuan Group, Badan Village, Chenji Town, Gushi County, at the junction of Henan and Anhui Provinces, and connects to the planned Changfeng–Gushi Expressway in Anhui Province. The route length is 38.6 kilometers, entirely within Gushi County. The entire line includes 1 extra-large bridge and 7 large bridges; 4 interchanges, including 1 hub interchange, 1 service area, 1 maintenance work area, and 1 monitoring sub-center. The project is proposed to adopt the BOT model, and the project implementation agency is the Xinyang Municipal Transport Bureau. The project legal person is Henan Jiaotou Guhuai Expressway Co., Ltd., with contributions of 51%, 24.97%, and 24.03% from Henan Expressway Development Co., Ltd., China Communications Road & Bridge Construction Co., Ltd., and China Construction Seventh Engineering Division Corp. Ltd., respectively. The construction of this project is conducive to improving the regional road network, creating a new inter-provincial corridor between Henan and Anhui Provinces, achieving the function of diverting traffic from the Xinyang section of the Shanghai–Shaanxi Expressway, and promoting the revitalization and development of the old revolutionary base area of the Dabie Mountains.
