记者从省公路管理局获悉，10月10日8时许，工作人员在日常巡查公路时发现，G98海南环岛高速K453+900处珠碧江大桥右幅（昌江往海口方向）桥基出现沉陷，存在重大安全隐患。
为了保障通行安全，省公路管理局高速公路养护管理中心第一时间采取应急措施，协调属地交警部门对该路段采取右幅封闭管制措施。
事发桥梁位于白沙境内，据初步分析，险情是因为第18号台风“狮子山”影响，洪水冲刷桥基础导致桥面出现沉陷，大桥右幅恢复交通保守估计要2个月以上。
目前右幅昌江-海口方向的车辆须绕行邦溪互通立交K448+964下高速，由海头立交K460+628上高速往海口方向行驶；左幅桥上单车道通行。
