At 23:50 on September 25, concrete pouring began for the mid-span closure segment of the left carriageway of the main bridge of the Zhanggongmiao Lishui Grand Bridge, and was completed at around 2:00 on the 26th, marking the successful closure of the left carriageway of the main bridge.

The Zhanggongmiao Lishui Grand Bridge is a control project of the Zhanggongmiao (Lixian County)–Taiping (Linli County) highway on No. 1 Avenue of the Yuan-Li Express Trunk Line. The project has a total length of 2 km, including a main bridge 1,394.04 meters long. It is built to Class I highway standards with a design speed of 80 km/h. The total investment is 372 million yuan, and it is expected to be completed and open to traffic in May 2022. The mid-span closure segment is 15.25 meters wide, 2 meters long and 3.2 meters high. To ensure the smooth construction of the mid-span closure segment of the left carriageway, the project management department of the Zhanggongmiao Lishui Grand Bridge of Changde Road & Bridge Group formulated a detailed and feasible construction plan and chose the period with the lowest temperature of the day for concrete pouring to reduce the impact of temperature differences, thereby ensuring the quality of the completed bridge and achieving the smooth closure of the left carriageway's mid-span.

It is reported that while the closure segment of the left carriageway was completed, construction of the right carriageway was also proceeding in an orderly manner, ensuring the smooth closure of the right carriageway by the end of November this year, at which point the main bridge will be fully connected.
