On September 26, the launch ceremony for the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High-Speed Railway was held at the plaza in front of Chengdu Railway Station.

It is understood that the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High-Speed Railway is located within Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality, with a line length of approximately 278 kilometers. The route starts from the Chengdu hub, passes through the Eastern New Town, Lezhi, and Anyue into Chongqing Municipality, and then via Dazu, Tongliang, and Bishan before entering the Chongqing hub.

The Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High-Speed Railway will adopt higher technical standards. Its design speed will reach 350 km/h, with a reserved speed of 400 km/h. Once completed, travel time between Chengdu and Chongqing will enter the one-hour high-speed rail economic circle.

At present, the railways connecting Chengdu and Chongqing include the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway, the Chengdu-Suining-Chongqing Railway, and the Chengdu-Chongqing High-Speed Railway. Among them, the Chengdu-Chongqing High-Speed Railway, after renovation, has already met the conditions for operation at a maximum speed of 350 km/h.
