On the 22nd, the provincial government officially approved the construction land for the Yangkou Port to Rudong Urban Area section of the Yangkou Port-Nantong Expressway (Phase II of Yangtong Expressway) via the 'Reply on the Construction Land for the Yangkou Port to Rudong Urban Area Section of the Yangkou Port-Nantong Expressway' (Su Zheng Cheng Di [2021] No. 19), marking that the project has cleared constraints on conditions for full-scale construction and is about to commence substantive work.

Since the land acquisition approval work for the project was launched on September 18, 2020, it has gone through 31 stages including land surveys and land acquisition announcements. With the joint efforts of competent authorities at the provincial, municipal, and county levels, the project land completed material compilation over 9 months, was submitted to the Provincial Department of Natural Resources on June 21, 2021, and was finally approved by the provincial government on September 22, 2021. The approval of the project land marks, on the one hand, that Phase II of the Yangtong Expressway has become the second expressway project in the city to obtain land approval this year, and on the other hand, that the land approval work method initially explored by Nantong transportation infrastructure projects after the implementation of the new 'Land Law' on January 1, 2020, is replicable and can be promoted.

After the Phase II of the Yangtong Expressway project is completed, the Nantong urban area will have direct expressway access to Yangkou Port, which is of great significance for improving the regional expressway network, advancing the construction of the new Nantong Tongzhou Bay seaport, improving the collection and distribution conditions of the Yangkou Port area of Nantong Port, and promoting economic and social development along the route.
