On September 22, Shudao Investment Group Co., Ltd. announced that the final girder segment of the steel box girder installation project for Turkey's 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, in which its subsidiary Sichuan Road & Bridge participated in construction, has been successfully installed in place, marking key phased progress in the bridge's main structure construction.

It is understood that Turkey's 1915 Çanakkale Bridge spans the Dardanelles Strait at the western end of the Sea of Marmara in Turkey, connecting Europe and Asia. It is a three-span suspension bridge with two towers and six lanes in each direction, with a main span of 2,023 meters. The side span on the Gelibolu (European) side is 770 meters long, and the side span on the Lapseki (Asian) side is 770 meters long. The bridge uses prefabricated parallel wire strand main cables and a separated steel box girder main girder, with a total of 87 installation segments, each with a standard length of 48 meters and a maximum lifting weight of 840 tons. The total length of the bridge's steel box girder is 3,563 meters. Once completed, the bridge will surpass Japan's Akashi Kaikyo Bridge to become the bridge with the world's longest main span.

During construction, all builders of the bridge project department overcame many unfavorable factors such as the pandemic, unfamiliar working environment, and harsh natural conditions, reasonably utilized work windows, and at a peak rate of installing 4 steel box girder segments per day, successfully completed the installation task of 87 steel box girder segments within a limited time.

It is reported that the "World's Longest Main Span" Turkey 1915 Çanakkale Bridge project is one of the important projects through which Shudao Group actively responds to the national "Belt and Road" Initiative, strives to expand overseas markets, and continues to increase its "going global" efforts.
