On September 17, the large-diameter shield tunnel project for pipelines in Qatar, contracted by China Railway Tunnel Group, was successfully completed. The domestically produced shield tunneling machine "Fuxing" achieved another success in Qatar after completing the Tel Aviv Red Line light rail project in Israel.

The project has a total length of approximately 2,400 meters and an excavation diameter of 7.54 meters. The consulting company is a Spanish local firm, and the project construction is based on the FIDIC Red Book 2011 edition.

On July 1, 2020, leveraging the professional brand advantage of China Railway Tunnel Group in the overseas market, Qatar conducted negotiations in the form of direct negotiation, and the two parties successfully signed the contract.

The successful implementation of the project received high praise from Qatar. Senior executives of the owner visited the site and praised it as "MUMUTAZ" (Arabic for "excellent").

The Qatar shield tunnel project is not only the successful debut of Chinese tunneling in the Qatari market, but also another breakthrough for Chinese speed, Chinese quality, and Chinese standards overseas.
