The newly built Section V of the North Cross Passage is located in the Jing'an section of Haining Road. Recently, the final roof slab pouring in Zone D of the section's main structure was successfully completed, achieving full connectivity and marking an important step in the construction of the east section of the North Cross Passage. See details below↓

Shanghai Construction Group said that the newly built Section V of the North Cross Passage is about 0.536 km long, covering the area from Wen'an Road to Shanxi North Road. Its main scope includes the shield launching shaft (including the open-cut section and the buried section), roads, drainage and other civil engineering works. East of the Wen'an Road portal is the cut-and-cover tunnel section, and the Fujian Road working shaft is located on the east side of Fujian North Road.

The single pouring volume for this roof slab reached 589 cubic meters. Since the first diaphragm wall panel trenching on April 18, 2020, this section has taken 17 months and poured a total of 30,202 cubic meters of main structure concrete, ultimately completing the construction of the double-layer, two-way underground buried passage across five construction zones, A, B, C, D and E.

From foundation pit excavation to the completion of structural capping, the Zone D construction area took only 60 days, finishing 20 days ahead of schedule and smoothly achieving the milestone of full connectivity of the Section V main structure.
