On August 9, Qingdao Airport Station on the Jinan-Qingdao High-Speed Railway was officially opened. In the initial stage of operation, the railway department arranged 10 EMU trains, allowing passengers from Qingdao, Jinan, Zibo, Weifang, Rizhao, Linyi and other areas to reach Qingdao Airport Station directly by high-speed rail.

Qingdao Airport Station on the Jinan-Qingdao High-Speed Railway is located underground beneath the terminal building of Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport. It is the first underground high-speed railway station in Shandong Province, with a station building area of 78,500 square meters and a scale of 2 platforms and 4 tracks. The station hall level is on the first underground floor, and the platform level is on the second underground floor. It seamlessly connects with aviation, subway, bus, taxi and other transportation modes, forming a convenient transportation system between Qingdao urban area and Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport and maximizing convenience for passengers.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Passenger Transport Department of China Railway Jinan Group, Qingdao Airport Station on the Jinan-Qingdao High-Speed Railway initially operates 10 EMU trains: G6966 from Rizhao West to Jinan, G2094/5 from Qingdao North to Lanzhou West, G2072/69 from Qingdao North to Zhengzhou East, G6964 from Linyi North to Jinan West, G6926 from Qingdao North to Jinan East, G6901 from Jinan East to Qingdao, G6925 from Jinan East to Qingdao North, G6967 from Jinan to Linyi North, G6963 from Jinan West to Rizhao West, and G5565/8 from Jinan West to Jinan West (loop line).

The operated trains connect cities in the province such as Rizhao, Jinan, Weifang, Yantai and Weihai with Jiaodong International Airport, making transfers more convenient for passengers.

According to staff at Qingdao Airport Station, the station is equipped with a variety of advanced facilities and has optimized multiple service measures to provide more humanized and convenient travel services for passengers. Face recognition gates are installed in the station entrance hall, enabling passengers to enter the station in a self-service manner; the security inspection area is equipped with domestically leading dual-source dual-view security inspection machines, so passengers arriving at the station by high-speed rail can enter the subway transfer area without undergoing security inspection again; the station has set up service facilities such as an "urgent passenger" channel and a dedicated waiting room for mothers and infants, providing passengers with a series of services including dedicated waiting areas, boarding guidance, foreign language services and assistance for passengers with special needs, giving passengers a warmer travel experience. The station strictly implements relevant epidemic prevention and control requirements, implements temperature measurement for entry and exit and isolation measures for passengers with fever, continuously carries out disinfection and epidemic prevention, and comprehensively strengthens epidemic prevention and control work.

In terms of emergency response, the station has carried out multiple drills for various abnormal emergencies to improve safety guarantee capabilities. At the same time, it has opened a fire rescue channel and emergency linkage with the airport terminal to ensure passengers' healthy and safe travel. According to epidemic prevention and control needs, trains G2072/69, G6926, G6925 and G5565/8 operated by Qingdao Airport Station have been temporarily suspended.
