根据报道，孟政府周三推出了预算56.9亿塔卡的项目，即在达卡-吉大港高速公路上建造三个地下通道和一个U型环路，以降低这条被称为国家经济生命线的重要公路上的事故风险。
孟国家经济委员会执行委员会（ECNEC）在由总理谢赫-哈西娜主持的视频会议上批准了该项目。会议还批准了另一个预算42.7亿塔卡的项目，为新冠疫情期间回国的孟籍工人创造就业机会，将向孟32个地区的约20万名回国移民每人提供13,500塔卡的现金支持。
孟计划部长马曼南称，世界银行将为该项目提供42.5亿塔卡的贷款。马曼南说，ECNEC此次共批准了10个项目，总预算为257.5亿塔卡，资金来源包括孟政府资金215.0亿塔卡和世界银行贷款42.5亿塔卡。新任命的孟国家规划部长Shamsul Alam博士、孟规划委员会成员和相关秘书也参加了此次会议。
