8月3日，随着最后一片长25米，高1.4米，重80吨的预制箱梁稳稳落在预定位置，由中国中铁、中铁城投投资，中铁二局第六公司承建的宜宾至彝良高速公路(下称：宜彝高速公路)宋江河特大桥双幅贯通，为公路建成通车打下了坚实基础。宜宾至彝良高速公路宋江河特大桥双幅贯通。
宜彝高速公路全长约130.67公里，总投资205.4亿元人民币，采用双向四车道，设计时速80公里。宋江河特大桥是宜彝高速公路全线关键控制性工程，特大桥桥梁全长1.6公里，宽24.5米，仅单桥总造价就高达1.14亿元人民币。
宜彝高速公路四川段位于宜宾市翠屏区、高县、筠连县境内，是四川省南向出川大通道的重要组成部分，全线预计2021年年底达到初步通车条件。
