On the afternoon of July 2, 2021, Deputy Director Yang Guang of the Silk Road International Capacity Cooperation Center (hereinafter referred to as the Silk Road Center), together with Liu Tianshu, Director of the Brand Promotion Department, Li Fengrui, Project Director, Meng Jie, Brand Promotion Director, and Xi Yuepeng, Consulting Researcher, visited the China Construction Machinery Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) and were warmly received by Wu Peiguo, Secretary-General of the Association, Lü Ying, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association, and others.

First, both sides reviewed the first "International Capacity Cooperation Overseas Contracting Engineering and Machinery Cooperation Forum & Silk Road Center Leading Talents Visit BICES" event (hereinafter referred to as the Forum), which was jointly held by the Association and the Silk Road Center during the BICES 2019 exhibition. More than 200 guests attended the Forum. International business heads of Silk Road leading enterprises, key leaders of overseas contracting construction units, and representatives of leading host-machine export enterprises in the construction machinery industry gathered together to engage in lively discussion and exchange on topics such as the problems encountered in and cooperation prospects for Belt and Road construction machinery supporting and serving engineering contracting. The Forum closely linked upstream and downstream enterprises of the Belt and Road, built a platform for everyone to have the opportunity to speak frankly, face problems directly, discuss plans for win-win cooperation, and achieve collective going-global. The Forum, originally scheduled for 3 hours, continued until the exhibition hall closed, and everyone was still reluctant to leave. The response was extremely enthusiastic, the entire event achieved great success, and it received attention and coverage from multiple mainstream media outlets.

In order to further promote and deepen collaboration and mutual understanding between supply and demand sides in Belt and Road construction projects, the Association and the Silk Road Center agreed to continue holding the second Forum during the BICES 2021 exhibition. Through discussion, both sides planned that the second Forum would be held on the third day of BICES 2021, namely September 16, 2021. In the morning, representatives of domestic and overseas construction enterprises attending the event will be organized to visit the booths of some construction machinery enterprises and watch wonderful on-site equipment demonstrations; in the afternoon, the thematic forum will be held. This Forum will be comprehensively upgraded in terms of content setting, guest invitations, and many other aspects. The original single keynote speech format is planned to be enriched into several more interactive segments, such as project roadshows, cooperation case sharing, and on-site signing. At the same time, the roundtable dialogue segment, which was widely praised at the previous Forum, will also receive greater investment in guest invitations, topic setting, and other aspects.

To make the Forum more effective, the organizers will carry the purpose of promoting sound, efficient, and rapid development of the entire industrial chain throughout the entire series of activities, striving to let everyone experience and integrate into the good atmosphere of interactive exchange and sincere cooperation between supply and demand sides. In addition, on the basis of summarizing the organizational experience of the previous event, both sides will greatly improve materials preparation, guest invitations, publicity planning, and other aspects, expand the audience and scope of influence as much as possible, make strong efforts to invite high-end and highly targeted guests to attend, and solidly carry out all preparatory work.

Finally, leaders of both sides stated that they would make persistent efforts, strengthen cooperation, go all out to do all work well, and strive to take this event to the next level; enrich the Forum content so that all guests and representatives can gain a great deal!
