On June 30, good news came from the construction site of the Northwest Ring Interchange Hub of the Kunchu Expressway in Tuanjie Subdistrict, Xishan District, Kunming: the last T-beam on the left side of the project was successfully erected at 10 a.m., marking the successful single-side span completion of the bridge.

The Kunming (Minshan) to Chuxiong (Guangtong) Expressway expansion project is an important section within Yunnan of the Hangzhou-Ruili Expressway under the National Highway Network Plan (2013-2030) and the Yunnan Provincial Road Network Plan (2014-2030). It is a major economic trunk line from Kunming to western Yunnan, northwestern Yunnan, southwestern Yunnan and the Tibetan areas, and is an international corridor connecting Southeast Asian and South Asian countries among the "seven outbound provincial and five outbound international" main highway corridors in Yunnan's expressway network.

The Northwest Ring Interchange Hub, invested by China Railway Construction Kunlun Investment Group and constructed by China Railway 16th Bureau Group, is a key controlling project of the Kunchu Expressway. It connects with the existing Kunming Northwest Ring Expressway through underpass and overpass splicing and widening.

Since T-beam erection began in January this year, the builders of China Railway 16th Bureau have carefully organized and scientifically planned the production, transportation and erection of T-beams, strictly ensuring safety and quality. After six months of unremitting efforts, they successfully completed the erection of 326 T-beams for Main Line Left Side Bridge No. 1 and No. 2, Yuhua Left Side Bridge No. 1 and No. 2, and Ramp F Bridge No. 1, laying a solid foundation for the timely completion and opening of the entire line.

At present, the Northwest Ring Interchange Hub project has entered a stage of all-out construction. The project department will continue to increase rational resource input and strengthen on-site scientific management and control, contributing to the opening of the entire line.
