At 22:00 on June 25, the main bridge of the Wusheng Zhongxin Dongmen ferry-to-bridge conversion project, a key provincial project in Sichuan Province, was successfully closed! This marks the final sprint stage before the entire bridge opens to traffic within the year!

The Zhongxin Dongmen ferry-to-bridge conversion project is located 1.2 kilometers downstream of the Tongzihao Hydropower Station dam on the Jialing River in Wusheng County. It is a transportation construction project of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle and a control project of Provincial Highway 206. The total investment in the bridge is 356 million yuan, with a total length of 1,138 meters. The main bridge is 246 meters long, the approach bridge is 892 meters long, and the bridge is 23 meters wide with four lanes in both directions. It is a three-span prestressed concrete continuous rigid-frame bridge.

As one of Wusheng's major corridors out of Sichuan and into Chongqing, Provincial Highway 206 starts in Yuechi, passes through Wusheng, and connects to Hechuan District of Chongqing. Once completed, the Zhongxin Dongmen ferry-to-bridge conversion project will be the most convenient and fastest route from the Hechuan-Wusheng jointly built industrial park along Provincial Highway 206 to National Highway 212 and directly to Chongqing Port. It will play a positive role in helping Wusheng build leading industrial clusters such as agricultural product processing, energy conservation and environmental protection and new materials, and equipment manufacturing, and in deeply integrating into the industrial division system of the Chengdu-Chongqing region.

Wusheng County, located within the "Chongqing one-hour economic circle" and the "Chengdu two-hour economic circle," designated 2021 as its "Transportation Construction Year." Since the beginning of this year, Wusheng County has seized the strategic opportunity of advancing the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle, optimized and completed the Sichuan-Chongqing cooperation transportation plan and the 14th Five-Year Comprehensive Transportation Plan, advanced the implementation of major transportation projects such as National Highway 350 (Guang'an-Wusheng Expressway) and the G75 Wusheng North Interchange, accelerated the construction of major external corridors, consolidated and enhanced Wusheng's transportation location advantages, and provided strong transportation support for fully integrating into the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle.
