Su Zimeng said that since the founding of New China, under the correct leadership of the Communist Party of China, and in the face of ever-growing market demand, through the self-reliance and hard work of the broad workforce, China's construction machinery industry has grown from small to large and from weak to strong, undergoing earth-shaking changes and achieving leapfrog development. For example, its total scale has ranked first in the world for many consecutive years, maintaining its position as a major country in construction machinery; the industry has a complete range of categories, with outstanding advantages in serialization and complete sets, providing equipment support for national economic construction; innovation capacity has been continuously enhanced, with fruitful independent innovation achievements and outstanding performance in major technical equipment; the pace of internationalization has accelerated, and global service capacity has been greatly enhanced; the industry has earnestly engaged in emergency rescue and relief and actively fulfilled social responsibilities; and it has risen to challenges and demonstrated great love, contributing to COVID-19 prevention and control and the resumption of work and production.

Regarding the development of the industry situation, Su Zimeng said that in the first half of 2021 the construction machinery industry operated steadily, and the industry got off to a good start in the 14th Five-Year Plan period. He explained and analyzed the main problems in the current operation of the industry, and noted that a series of important measures proposed in the Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035 (the "Outline") will bring broader space for innovative development to the construction machinery industry. Su Zimeng pointed out that the main tasks and key work of the current construction machinery industry are: to earnestly study and comprehend the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and fully implement the guidelines, policies and decisions of the CPC Central Committee; to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Outline; to correctly judge, carefully analyze and scientifically grasp the development situation of the construction machinery industry in the second half of 2021; the Association will closely combine industry realities with enterprise needs, proactively put forward policy recommendations, and continue to offer suggestions for the high-quality development of the industry; and to grandly hold BICES 2021 to provide quality services for enterprises in market development, brand enhancement and user exchange.

Su Zimeng concluded by saying: let us join hands, stay true to our original aspiration, fulfill our mission, pioneer and innovate, and strive courageously for the high-quality development of China's construction machinery industry, for building a modern socialist country in all respects and realizing the Second Centenary Goal, and present outstanding achievements as a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party!

Wu Peiguo said that all preparatory work is basically in place, and that the 2021 international exhibition event representing the highest quality and level in the world will be presented as scheduled to domestic and foreign users, enthusiastic visitors, the people of the capital and all sectors of society. He introduced the preparations for BICES 2021 and the next key tasks from six aspects: as of June 20, 2021, the exhibitor organization work had exceeded the phased target; the organization of the "Construction Machinery Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievements Exhibition Area" is progressing in an orderly manner; the organization of professional customers and visitors is in full swing; the various activities of the exhibition will be organized at high standards, with high quality and at multiple levels; an online cloud exhibition will be added to facilitate foreign visitors who cannot come to China due to the pandemic and to provide exhibitors with a platform to expand overseas publicity; and the publicity work for BICES 2021 will be organized in an all-round and multi-angle manner.

A representative of China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation Limited said in his speech that CRCHI attaches great importance to BICES 2021 and will again participate with a large booth area. It is currently fully engaged in preparations for BICES 2021 and will bring super underground engineering equipment to the exhibition, support the successful holding of the "CRCHI Cup" Creative Design Competition, and invite construction unit users and visitors to exchange on site.
