At the Haikou Bay site, it can be seen that the walking path, running path and cycling path are fully connected. Under the blue sky and white clouds, residents and tourists stop to look at the sea, while some run briskly and work up a sweat.
Lin Jie, project manager of the Haikou Bay Access Project at Haikou Tourism and Culture Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd., has learned that the Phase II and Phase III demonstration sections of the Haikou Bay Access Project, which have attracted much public attention, have been completed, and seven service stations will be built at Haikou Bay in the future. At present, No. 3 high-standard service station has been completed and opened on April 12. The No. 6 service station, the "Sky Mountain" project, has completed about 20% of the entire project volume and is expected to be completed and put into use next year.
After partial upgrading of the Haikou Bay Access Project, supporting facilities such as children's playgrounds and art exhibition spaces are fully available
At the Haikou Bay Children's Playground, it has been learned that the facilities have basically been completed, including percussion instruments, mazes, balance beams and others, in various forms and brilliant colors. It is understood that this children's playground is one of the main supporting facilities of Phase III of the Haikou Bay Access Project.
According to Lin Jie, Phase III of the Haikou Bay Access Project starts from Lijing Road in the west and ends at Longzhu Bridge in the east, with a total length of about 7.5 kilometers, and is now fully connected. In the upgraded Phase III of Haikou Bay, the "convenient three paths", children's playgrounds, art exhibition spaces and other supporting facilities are fully available.
"The project is divided into three phases. Phase I was completed at the end of last year. As Phase II and Phase III completed the connection of the 'three paths' at the beginning of the new year, it means the entire project has been fully connected, linking urban landmarks such as Evergreen Park, Century Park, Century Bridge, the Bell Tower and Qilou Old Street," Lin Jie said. At present, Phase II and Phase III are still undergoing partial upgrading, greening and rectification work.
The Haikou Bay Access Project is a key livelihood project in Haikou. Seven service stations will be arranged along the 19.6-kilometer waterfront area. The No. 3 high-standard service station in Phase I has been completed. At present, the No. 6 high-standard service station has entered the full-load construction stage, and the construction of public service stations at Haikou Bay is being accelerated.
About 20% of the project volume of No. 6 service station "Sky Mountain" has been completed
No. 6 service station is located next to the Meilan demonstration section of Phase I of the Haikou Bay Access Project, facing Century Bridge to the east and facing Century Park, with outstanding locational advantages.
Walking into the project construction site of the service station, many workers are busy at their posts, and the site presents a bustling scene of construction.
No. 6 service station is one of the representative projects of the large international public art project "Haikou Seaside Stations". A famous Japanese architect provided the conceptual design scheme, and China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Corp. Ltd. was responsible for deepening the scheme and construction drawing design. Bringing together the efforts of architectural masters, the creative design is unique.
"The biggest feature of No. 6 service station is that after it is put into use, visitors can follow the undulating roof and enjoy the charming coastal scenery at a glance," Lin Jie told reporters. The project is the first high-standard coastal service station on Haidian Island. The building consists of a continuous undulating circular roof, creating a "Sky Mountain" between the city and the sea. The solid structure is hidden in the dynamic architectural curves, as soft as clouds and as changeable as the sky. The total construction area is 3,606.67 square meters, with functions such as a trendy culture space, service station convenience services, a cafe, sports and fitness, information consultation and special themed spaces.
According to reports, architect Sou Fujimoto tried to seek harmony among the service station, the seaside and the ocean, to show the beauty of Haikou, and also attempted to establish a good interactive relationship among visitors, the sea view and the service station. To this end, he also visited Haikou many times for on-site inspections, paying attention in the design to displaying the characteristic cultural charm of a coastal city and striving to create a new landmark of coastal art architecture.
"At present, the construction of the No. 6 service station project is progressing smoothly, and about 20% of the entire project volume has been completed. It is expected to meet the public and tourists next year," Lin Jie said. "Sky Mountain" has a gently sloping roof like a valley, sitting on the charming Haikou Bay and connecting the city and the waterfront. Beneath the sloping roof is an open and transparent shared space. Visitor rest areas, service functions, trendy art space and auxiliary functions such as a TV studio for the service station are all located in this space.
