On June 13, a reporter learned from Sichuan Road & Bridge Construction under Shudao Group that in the early hours of June 13, the main arch of the Zhongba Zhouhe Bridge in Dazhou City was successfully closed. The bridge is currently the basket arch bridge with the longest span in Sichuan Province, and the full bridge is expected to be connected by the end of this year.

The Zhongba Zhouhe Bridge crosses the Zhouhe River, connecting with Changtian Avenue on the east bank and ending on the west side of Chaoyang Reservoir via a connecting line on the west bank. It was designed by T.Y. Lin International Engineering Consulting (China) Co., Ltd. and is being constructed by Sichuan Road & Bridge Co., Ltd. under Shudao Investment Group. The bridge has a total length of 722 meters, a main span of 255 meters, a standard main bridge deck width of 35 meters, six lanes in both directions, and a design speed of 60 kilometers per hour.

As one of the key projects of Dazhou City's "Five Bridges, Six Roads and Seven Major New Areas," the Zhongba Zhouhe Bridge is an important node project connecting Changtian New Area, Matadong Area, Yaotang Urban New Area, Yangliu Commercial Park, Heshi Logistics Park and other urban new areas. The project began construction in 2018.

It is understood that the Dazhou Zhongba Zhouhe Bridge is an urban main road and also an urban landscape bridge crossing the Zhouhe River. To support flood control and ensure normal navigation, the construction broke with the conventional construction technique for basket arch bridges, which requires fully closing the river channel, and adopted cable hoisting construction technology. In response to challenges such as adjusting and positioning the spatial posture of the inward-inclined arch segments, the cable hoisting design carried out technical research and adopted new techniques, new technologies and new equipment, achieving faster and safer construction.

In the future, once the Zhongba Zhouhe Bridge is completed, it will effectively ease urban traffic pressure, improve the local road network structure and boost local economic development.
