The Guihua Bridge, spanning the Daning River, a tributary of the Yangtze, is a key transportation project under the follow-up work plan for Three Gorges migrants and an important link connecting Wushan Station of the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-Speed Railway, Wushan County seat and Wushan Airport. The bridge is 1,540 meters long in total; its main bridge is a two-tower steel box girder suspension bridge with a 550-meter main span and four lanes in both directions.

According to Wang Long, deputy manager of the Wushan Guihua Bridge Project Department of Beixin Road & Bridge Group, the project is currently focused on circumferential seam welding of the steel box girders, which is expected to be completed by the end of this month. Next, asphalt paving on the steel box girder deck and removal of the catwalk will be carried out, and the entire project is expected to be completed by the end of October this year.

Once the Guihua Bridge is completed, vehicles passing through Wushan via National Highway G348 and Expressway G42 will no longer need to go through the Wushan county seat and can reach Wushan Station of the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-Speed Railway and Wushan Airport directly. At the same time, the commute time from the Wushan county seat to the high-speed railway station will be greatly shortened from 40 minutes to 15 minutes, making travel more convenient for residents.
