On the 25th, a reporter learned from the Tongzhou highway department that the local authorities have begun inspecting 992 rural bridges within the Tongzhou jurisdiction. As of now, 101 rural bridges have been inspected.

According to the work deployment, third-party inspectors and highway department personnel have been divided into four teams and dispatched to various townships, using kayaks, rolling measuring wheels, professional observation cameras, range finders and other tools to carry out professional inspection work on bridge appearance, abutments, bridge deck systems, and visible defects. After on-site inspection is completed, the corresponding cards for the inspected bridges, bridge assessment forms, and bridge inspection forms are filled out, ultimately producing an investigation report with complete data and information. Based on the inspection results, a technical condition assessment of the bridges' safety and quality is conducted.

During the inspection process, the corresponding personnel conduct inspections in an orderly manner according to the route and must not skip around, so as to avoid repeated or missed inspections; before inspection, they must refer to the bridge attributes and superstructure and substructure to check and correct some labeling errors in the original electronic map; if dangerous bridges (Class IV and V bridges) are found, they must be reported immediately, and the sub-center shall contact the relevant parties to handle them promptly.

It is understood that Tongzhou's 2021 regular inspection of rural road bridges and Class III, IV and V bridges on county roads is being carried out in an orderly manner, with all field inspections to be completed by the end of June. In addition, the regular inspection of major and extra-large bridges on county roads within the jurisdiction has already been tendered and will be officially implemented in early June.
