Recently, the No. 6 trailer of the shield machine for the left line at Nanliucun Station in Work Zone 5 of Civil Engineering Section 1 of Zhengzhou Metro Line 8, undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 11 Co., Ltd., was lowered into the shaft, marking the start of shield tunneling construction in Work Zone 5.

Work Zone 5 of Civil Engineering Section 1 of the Phase I project of Zhengzhou Metro Line 8 runs from Nanliucun Station to Wulongkou West Station, with a section length of about 2,091 meters. It passes beneath Xiliu Lake and Jialu River over a long distance, and the tunnel mainly crosses silty clay strata, making construction highly difficult. The project department actively overcame difficulties such as limited preliminary data, a complex construction environment, and high coordination difficulty, and solidly carried out the preparation, review, and approval of construction organization designs, shield machine selection, shield machine launching and assembly/disassembly, and 45-ton gantry crane assembly/disassembly schemes, providing technical guarantees for smooth shield construction on schedule. At the same time, based on the plan and profile drawings of the section alignment, supplementary geological surveys and detection of voids in the section were conducted, and a detailed investigation of the surrounding environment was carried out, providing strong support for shield construction.

Next, the project department will intensify construction efforts, striving to complete the lifting and lowering, assembly, and commissioning of the shield machine, as well as the installation of the 45-ton gantry crane auxiliary to shield construction, the cooling water system, and the segment yard construction in the shortest possible time, ensuring the shield machine launches smoothly on schedule.
