据悉，连接奥地利与意大利的布伦纳基线隧道工程Mule2-3标段中，一台直径10.65m的双护盾TBM在3月创下了月掘进距离860m的全新纪录。
据悉，该标段目前有三台海瑞克TBM掘进，而此次创造掘进纪录的TBM此前的日掘进距离为27.7m，最高日掘进距离为36.75m。截止2021年4月上旬，两台主隧道TBM已经完成了标段内掘进距离的50%以上。
布伦纳基线隧道为“欧洲货运网络”工程的一部分，主线全长55km，建设完成后有望与2016年开通的哥达基线隧道争夺“世界最长铁路隧道”之名。除了主隧道的TBM之外，工程另有一台直径6.82m的TBM开挖服务隧道，连同隧道中其余部分的钻爆法施工，共同于2022年底完成整个隧道的建设。
