Recently, the "Jiaoxiang No. 9" shield tunneling machine of Changsha Metro Line 6 officially completed its excavation task, achieving twin-tunnel breakthrough on the section between South Martyrs' Park Station and Yingbin Road Intersection Station. After 1,098 days, the central urban section of Changsha Metro Line 6's middle segment has achieved full breakthrough. The central urban section, constructed by CCCC First Highway Engineering Group Co., Ltd., comprises 7 stations and 6 sections with a total length of 7.94 km. The project construction passed beneath 92 buildings including the Provincial Museum, relocated 9 types of pipelines, and adopted more than 10 construction techniques.

With a total length of 48 km, Changsha Metro Line 6 is an east-west trunk line laid out along Changsha's main passenger flow corridor. Once completed, it will become the only metro line in Changsha that can directly reach the terminal building of Huanghua Airport, and is of great significance for strengthening the connection between the Hexi sub-center and the main center of Changsha, alleviating traffic pressure, and guiding the city's east-west expansion.
