On May 9, the double-track shield tunnel between Beidajie Station and Beicheng Bridge Station under Section 04 of the civil construction of Phase I of Nantong Rail Transit Line 2 was completed. To date, four sections of Line 2 have successfully completed their tunnel construction tasks.

The shield-driven section from Beidajie Station to Beicheng Bridge Station has a total length of 542.5 meters. The receiving end, Beicheng Bridge Station, is an underground three-level station located on the main road of Beidajie and adjacent to the Jianghai Avenue elevated expressway, where traffic volume is high and the surrounding environment is complex, making construction highly difficult. To ensure safety, the construction unit adopted a dual safeguard measure combining the freezing method with an auxiliary steel sleeve. The rail company organized shield tunneling experts, construction units, supervision units and others on multiple occasions to conduct risk assessments and technical scheme demonstrations for shield tunneling. During the reception of the shield machine, simultaneous grouting and secondary grouting were used in combination to ensure grouting density. The owner's representative of the rail company was stationed on site for supervision, promptly and efficiently resolving and coordinating issues. Through full-process, full-chain and full-time management measures, solid guarantees were provided for the smooth reception of the shield machine.

To date, all 28 stations of Phase I of Rail Transit Line 1 have been capped, 57 single-track sections have been completed, and 73 kilometers of main-line track laying has been completed for the track project. For Phase I of Rail Transit Line 2, the main structure construction of 14 stations has been completed, and 19 single-track sections have been completed.
