Recently, the 17185-W1 shield machine, independently developed and manufactured by CCCC Tianhe, was successfully launched on the right line of the Wayatan Station–Wanjiawan Station section in Civil Works Section 1 of the Chengdu Metro Line 13 Phase I Project, marking that the section has officially entered the stage of simultaneous twin-line tunneling.

The shield machine is a φ8580mm composite earth pressure balance shield machine, used on the right line of the Wayatan Station–Wanjiawan Station section in Civil Works Section 1 of the Line 13 Phase I Project. The main strata it passes through are silty clay, clayey silt, fine sand, medium sand, and cobble. Because the cobble layer at the site is relatively thick and distributed in layers, with locally intercalated thin sand layers, and contains a large amount of phreatic water with large water volume and a high water level, construction is relatively difficult.

To ensure the safe and smooth tunneling of the shield machine in the later stage, the project department exercised all-round control and carried out high-quality assembly and commissioning of the shield machine, ensuring its smooth launch. In the follow-up work, the project will further strengthen coordination and communication with the client, make overall arrangements, closely monitor equipment trends, reduce the failure rate, actively summarize various experiences, provide high-quality services to the client, demonstrate the superiority of Tianhe equipment and the professionalism of its technical personnel, and establish a good brand image at the new start of the Chengdu Line 13 Phase I Project.
