On the morning of May 10, as the shield machine's cutterhead began to rotate slowly, the left-line shield machine for the Yixinhu Station–Zhengxingwan Station shield tunnel section of the Chengdu Metro Line 19 project was successfully relaunched, and tunneling in this section also smoothly surpassed the 700-ring milestone.

The left line of the Yixinhu Station–Zhengxingwan Station shield tunnel section on Chengdu Metro Line 19 has a total length of 2,300.944 meters. Since its launch on October 6, 2020, after 219 days and the joint efforts of all construction personnel, 1,260 meters of shield tunneling have been completed on the left line of the Yixinhu Station–Zhengxingwan Station shield tunnel section, accounting for 54.7% of the total shield tunneling work for the left line of this section.

In order to complete the shield tunneling task and all schedule milestone targets more safely, quickly and with higher quality, and taking this second launch of the left line as an opportunity, with shield tunneling as the focus, the project department organized and carried out the themed labor competition activity "Gather Strength, Meet Challenges, Present a Gift for the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Party," sounding the call for the final decisive push.

On the eve of relaunch, the project department first used shift meetings to comprehensively review on-site work again. By analyzing and summarizing the problems that occurred during the shield machine's tunneling in the Yixinhu–Zhengxingwan section, it carried out comprehensive inspection, repair and maintenance of the shield machine's electrical equipment, hydraulic system, cutterhead panel, cutters, screw conveyor, shield tail and sealing brushes, among other components. Second, it conducted comprehensive training for on-site workers, covering precautions for the shield machine passing through the ventilation shaft station and the technical requirements for the second launch, further improving the workers' safety awareness and operational skills. Third, it rationally allocated on-site resources, refined the assembly process arrangements, and promptly carried out supporting construction such as track adjustment and negative ring segment assembly. Fourth, it strengthened safety precautions and safely and efficiently completed all preparatory work before the second launch and tunneling of the shield machine at the ventilation shaft.

This second launch at the No. 19 machine ventilation shaft marks a new stage for shield tunneling in this section, which is expected to reach the receiving shaft in late September and achieve breakthrough of the shield tunnel section.
