"Blasting countdown, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..." At 10:35 a.m. on May 11, at the south portal of the tunnel works of the G319 Liuyang Tianmashan Tunnel Reconstruction and Expansion Project, a deafening round of explosions rang out and the tunnel exit was instantly filled with smoke. The successful blasting of the tunnel marks the official breakthrough of the tunnel of the G319 Liuyang Tianmashan Tunnel Reconstruction and Expansion Project, four days ahead of the original schedule.

"Since the project resumed work and production on February 22, we have worked backward from the time nodes to schedule the construction period, established a 'monthly scheduling, weekly arrangement' work system, and gone all out to push for the early breakthrough of the tunnel, laying a solid foundation for the trial opening to traffic on July 1," said Lin Yun, director of the Engineering Department of the Liuyang Highway Construction and Maintenance Center. As a major livelihood project in Liuyang, the G319 Liuyang Tianmashan Tunnel Reconstruction and Expansion Project has a route length of 2.477 kilometers, adopts the technical standards of a Class I highway, has a design driving speed of 60 kilometers per hour, adds a reconstructed route subgrade width of 9.75 meters, and includes one 1,075-meter tunnel. Once completed, it will run parallel to the old tunnel to achieve two-way, single-direction traffic in separate bores.
