From April 20 to April 26, the Shanghai Rail Transit Regional Line Jiamin Line project conducted a public consultation notice for environmental impact (the first EIA public notice).

The Shanghai Rail Transit Regional Line Jiamin Line (provisional name) is a north-south backbone line in Shanghai's regional network, one of the nine radial lines of the Shanghai rail transit regional network, an important line serving rapid travel in Jiading, Songjiang, and Fengxian new towns and the Jinshan coastal area on the west side of the city, an important support for connecting with the Yangtze River Delta and reflecting higher-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and an important line that interchanges with multiple rail transit lines within the city and reflects multi-network integration. This project is needed to strengthen the connection between internal and external transport in Shanghai and build a multi-network integrated, three-dimensional public transport system; to support the dual needs of inward coordinated development and outward expansion development of new towns and new townships; to implement bus-style operation of intercity travel and promote high-quality integrated transport development in the Yangtze River Delta region; and to improve passenger collection and distribution capacity at Hongqiao Hub and strengthen the hub's composite functions.

The implementation section of this project passes through two administrative districts, Jiading District and Minhang District, connecting from north to south important new towns and transport hubs such as Jiading New Town, Hongqiao Hub, and Minhang. The total length of the main line in the implementation section of this project is 41.35 km, including 41.08 km underground and 0.27 km at grade. The left running line of the Madong EMU Depot is 1.838 km and the right running line is 1.773 km. One new traction substation is to be built on Huxing Road. The construction scope of this project is: from Chengbei Road Station (inclusive) to Hongqiao Station (exclusive) CK0+000.00~DK29+135.43 (broken chain 236.03 m), with a main line length of 28.90 km; from Hongqiao Station (exclusive) to Yindu Road Station (inclusive) DK31+750.00~CK44+201.10, with a main line length of 12.45 km; the total length of the main line of this project is 41.35 km. The line is mainly laid underground, and only Hongqiao Station adopts a ground-level station format because it uses reserved works. Among this, the underground section is 41.08 km (the entire underground section adopts a double-tube single-track small shield scheme with an outer diameter of 9.0 m; the single-track tunnel has an outer diameter of 9.0 m, an inner diameter of 8.1 m, and a clearance circle of 7.8 m), and the ground-level open-cut section (U-shaped trough) is 0.27 km (the DK29+135.43~DK31+750.00 section belongs to the Hongqiao Hub project of the Shanghai Rail Transit Regional Line Airport Link Project constructed by others and is not included in this project); 14 underground stations are set up at Chengbei Road, Xincheng Road, Jiajian Highway, Fengmao Road, Nanxiang, Jinyuan Fifth Road, Jinyun Road, Tianshan Road, Yingbin Third Road, Huxing Road, Qibao, Qixin Road, Xinjian Road, and Yindu Road (all station names are provisional). The left running line of the Madong EMU Depot is 1.838 km (DCDIK0~DCDIK1+838), with an open-cut section (U-shaped trough) of 178 m, and the rest is underground; the right running line of the Madong EMU Depot is 1.773 km (DCDIyK0+000~DCDIyK1+773), with an open-cut section (U-shaped trough) of 203 m, and the rest is underground. One new traction substation is to be built on Huxing Road.

This project does not include: the Madong EMU Depot (including the Madong main substation) and the dispatch, training, and operation center, which will be submitted for approval separately. The track, communication, signaling, traction substation, catenary, process, and other works of the Shenkun Road parking lot have already been submitted for approval separately.

In addition, connection conditions for the reserved planned Baojia Line connecting line (double track) are reserved before Fengmao Road Station, and connection conditions for the reserved Shanghai-Nanjing connecting line (double track) are reserved in the section from Nanxiang Station to Jinyuan Fifth Road Station.
