From April 22 to April 28, the pre-approval public notice for the environmental impact assessment of the Phase II project of Shanghai Rail Transit Line 18 was issued.
The Phase II project of Shanghai Rail Transit Line 18 is the northern section of Line 18 in the Shanghai Urban Rapid Rail Transit Near-term Construction Plan (2010-2015). Its construction will support the economic and social development of important areas along the route such as Wusong Innovation City, strengthen the connection between Baoshan District and Yangpu District and Pudong New Area, and promote coordinated regional interaction and development; it will ease regional road traffic pressure and improve the urban transport structure and environment; and it will further improve network functions and optimize the network structure.
The Phase II project of Line 18 is located in Baoshan District. It starts from the north end shaft of Changjiang South Road Station (exclusive), the terminal station of the Phase I project, and runs along Changjiang South Road - Yujiang Lane Road - planned Tieshan Road - planned Hulan Road - Hulan Road - Yunzaobang Road, ending at Dakang Road Station, with conditions reserved for extension to Dachang Airport.
The main line of the project is about 8.1 km long, entirely underground, with a total of 6 stations: Tongnan Road Station, Changjiang West Road Station, Jiangyang South Road Station, Aihui Road Station, Hulan Road Station, and Dakang Road Station (all tentative names), with an average station spacing of 1.352 km. Among them, Hulan Road Station will interchange with the existing Line 1, and Jiangyang South Road Station will interchange with Line 19, with conditions reserved for interchange with the planned Line 24.
The Phase II project will build one new Miaohang Depot (connected to Hulan Road Station), covering an area of about 20.2 ha; and one new Jiangyang South Road main substation (located northwest of Jiangyang South Road Station, sharing resources with the planned Line 19 main substation). This project will not build a new operation control center; the control center will be the same as that of the Phase I project, located in the "Shanghai Rail Transit Network Operation Dispatch Management Building" within the Puhuitang Base. The project will use 6-car Type A trains, with a maximum operating speed of 80 km/h. The estimated total investment of the project is about 13.136 billion yuan. The total construction period is currently planned at 61 months.
Note: The route alignment and station settings (including entrances/exits and ventilation shaft facilities) are subject to the construction drawings and ultimately to actual construction. Project construction is subject to permit review and actual construction conditions. The planned stations and planned roads along the route are all tentative names and are not approved place names. Public opinions and suggestions are solicited on matters related to the environmental impact of this project (noise, vibration, ecology, surface water, air, electromagnetic, solid waste, environmental impact economic cost-benefit, etc.). Public opinions or demands involving matters unrelated to the environmental impact assessment of the construction project, such as project planning schemes, land acquisition and demolition, property, and employment, are not part of the public participation content for the environmental impact assessment of the construction project.
