4月19日，西淅高速张湾特大桥连续梁主跨合龙，为后续桥面系施工打下了坚实基础。
据悉，由中交一公局第八工程有限公司承建的张湾特大桥是全线的重难点和控制性工程，全长2920米，设计时速100公里，双向4车道，大桥主跨采用(56+100+56)米连续梁，是豫南地区在建的最大跨度的公路连续梁。
张湾特大桥横跨南水北调中线工程上游重要水源涵养区，为保护工地周边的生态环境，项目针对桥梁施工中产生的弃土、弃渣，实行随挖随运，减少临时堆放时间。
西峡至淅川高速公路全长52.817公里，项目建成后，将打通豫鄂两省高速断头路，实现豫鄂两省高速公路互联互通。
