At 10 a.m. on April 18, as the shield machine's cutterhead broke through the reserved opening at Yudao Station, the left line tunnel of the Sanbao Station–Yudao Station shield section in Section 3 of Hangzhou Metro Line 9 was successfully completed.

The left line tunnel of the San–Yu section completed this time has a total length of 906.036 meters. The shield passed beneath structures including the Hangzhou–Shenzhen and Shanghai–Kunming high-speed railways (the north approach bridge of the Qiantang River New Bridge), the Shanghai–Kunming Railway (formerly the Zhejiang–Jiangxi Railway), the Shanghai–Hangzhou–Ningbo Expressway Bridge, and passed alongside the Qiantang Road Tunnel. The strata crossed were mainly fluid-plastic silty and sandy soils with high water content, high compressibility, poor self-stability, and a tendency to liquefy. During construction, the shield company organized scientifically, planned ahead, managed meticulously, and focused on key milestones. Based on geological and site conditions, it repeatedly organized experts to review the construction plan and special safety plan, and strengthened safety precautions such as acceptance checks at key construction milestones. Measures including 24-hour monitoring, real-time measurement of ground settlement, enhanced ground patrols, and strict control of tunneling parameters were adopted to ensure safe and stable shield construction. In addition, in conjunction with China Railway Engineering Equipment Group, targeted optimization and modification of the shield machine were carried out to comprehensively improve the working performance of the tunneling equipment and reduce the safety risks of shield tunneling in complex strata.

The successful completion of the left line of the San–Yu section further mobilized the enthusiasm and confidence of all employees of the shield company to go all out in advancing the project construction, and greatly boosted morale. In subsequent construction, the shield company will continue to carry forward its fine style of tackling difficulties and its spirit of an iron army, further strengthen target management and construction organization, and ensure the remaining construction tasks are completed safely, with high quality, and efficiently.
