At noon on April 15, with the start of concrete pouring for the final roof slab at Dinggong Road North Station, the main structures of all stations on Nanchang Metro Line 4 were fully capped.
Nanchang Metro Line 4 is currently the metro line in Nanchang with the largest investment, the longest route mileage, the most stations, the deepest foundation pit excavation, and the greatest overall implementation difficulty. At the same time, the line started construction in December 2017 and is scheduled to open for operation by the end of 2021, making it also the fastest-built line in Nanchang.
Dinggong Road North Station on Nanchang Metro Line 4, constructed by China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group, was affected by land acquisition and relocation and is the last station on Line 4 to start construction. Faced with this situation, all project participants have maintained since the start of the project the work belief of “striving until we can strive no more, working hard until we move ourselves,” overcoming numerous difficulties such as the large volume of housing acquisition and demolition in the old downtown area, the difficulty of traffic diversion on Beijing West Road, the complex underground pipelines requiring extensive relocation, the dense old buildings around the station, the narrow construction site, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through measures such as “making time from the night and racing against rainy days,” deploying additional construction resources, optimizing construction organization, and refining process management, they ensured that Dinggong Road North Station was successfully capped on schedule.
