On the afternoon of April 14, just after the heavy rain had stopped, more than 80 construction workers swarmed into the Yangmeizhou Bridge construction site, and an 80-ton crawler crane also arrived on site at the same time. Two days earlier, concrete pouring had already begun on part of Section 14 of the east-bank main tower of the Yangmeizhou Bridge, marking the official start of construction on the east-bank main tower. A project official said the east-bank main tower is expected to be capped by the end of October this year at the earliest.

The project is implemented by Chengfa Group. The main bridge cable tower is a reinforced concrete single-column tower. Due to policy adjustments and other reasons, before the work stoppage, 123 meters of the cable tower (east bank) remained unbuilt. To ensure scientific and reasonable construction and guarantee project quality, a team of experts from Hunan University of Science and Technology was specially invited to conduct experimental research and verification on crack-resistance technology for new and old concrete in the cable tower of the Xiangtan Yangmeizhou Bridge, to scientifically study the compatibility between the previously constructed portion and the new construction content, and to conduct verification research on the concrete pouring construction plan and the installation plan for the climbing formwork and tower crane. After all preparatory procedures were completed, concrete pouring officially began at 5 p.m. on April 12. It is reported that the concrete for the east-bank main tower of the project is divided into 42 sections in total; this operation covered Section 14, with 129 cubic meters of concrete poured on site. It is expected that the remaining concrete pouring work will be completed by the end of October this year, after which the project will enter the steel box girder construction stage.

The Yangmeizhou Bridge and its north and south approach lines have a total length of 7.68 kilometers. Starting from the West Second Ring Road in the north, it crosses Yangmeizhou and connects with Lanyuan Road on the east bank. It is a controlling project of the supporting infrastructure construction project (Phase II of the north and south approach lines) for the Yaowan Scenic Area in Xiangtan City. The main bridge of the Yangmeizhou Bridge has a total length of 1.1 kilometers and is a cable-stayed bridge with two towers, two cable planes, and a semi-floating system, designed with six lanes in both directions. The bridge's biggest feature is that it crosses the river in a single span, with a main span of 658 meters.

The Yangmeizhou Bridge is scheduled for completion in May 2023.
