On April 14, the Lianqi River Bridge, a key component of the project, completed the hoisting of its steel box girders and was successfully closed, achieving full completion of the main works for Section 1 and the entire Phase II project, laying a solid foundation for the project to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of June this year.

At 2 p.m., at the Lianqi River Bridge construction site, the last steel box girder was hoisted into place. These "big guys," each weighing over a hundred tons, were precisely positioned through close coordination between construction machinery and the builders, creating a perfect connection between the Baoshan and Jiading sections of the S7 Highway.

The Lianqi River Bridge crosses the river in a single span, with no piers placed in the river channel. This design will enable the S7 Highway to fulfill its role as a major north-south transport artery while not affecting water transport on the Lianqi River, turning the win-win of water and land transportation into reality.

Previously, the elevated road structure for the S7 Highway Phase II project had already been fully completed. The concrete pavement layer on the elevated road has also been laid. Once the Lianqi River Bridge is completed, asphalt concrete surface paving can proceed along the entire Phase II route.

According to reports, the main elevated section of the S7 Highway is built to expressway standards, with six lanes in both directions and a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The entire project uses prefabricated construction techniques for 95% of its work. Prefabricated components produced in factories are transported to the site and assembled through hoisting and splicing to form the elevated road. The entire construction process reflects high quality reliability and environmental friendliness.

With the main works now completed, the full completion and opening of the entire S7 Highway Phase II project is drawing ever closer. Once the newly built S7 Highway (Yueluo Highway–Baoqian Highway) project is completed and opened to traffic, it will provide a rapid connection between the central urban area, the Baoshan main urban area, and the Jiading New City center, offering more convenient travel for residents of Baoshan and Jiading districts.

According to long-term plans, the S7 Highway will also be extended to Chongming Island, thereby completing a perfect connection between Shanghai's central urban area, Baoshan, and Chongming.
