On the morning of April 10, the first steel box girder was hoisted into place for the Qimenyan Road Bridge over the Nanxi River. The bridge spans the Nanxi River channel and the embankments on both banks. Its main tower is an A-shaped tower with a height of 74.699 m; the height above the bottom line of the main girder is 64.266 m, and the height-to-span ratio is 0.494:1, making construction extremely difficult. In the future, the towering main tower will become a landmark building in the west of Shucheng County.

To ensure that the hoisting of this steel box girder was safe and of controllable quality, the contractor prepared a special construction plan that passed expert review. Before hoisting, a five-party acceptance inspection was carried out on the steel box girder produced by Kuayu Steel Structure, and pre-shift safety and technical briefings were organized for the machinery team and the installation team. The entire steel structure bridge is about 130 m long and 40 m wide, with a total steel structure weight of more than 2,000 tonnes. It is planned to be hoisted in 8 sections, with 10 segments per section. The installation of the steel box girders for the entire bridge is expected to be completed in May.

The Qimenyan Road Bridge over the Nanxi River is a controlling node of the new construction and renovation project for Qimenyan Road and Binhe Road in Shucheng County. The successful first hoisting of the steel box girder marks that bridge construction has entered the sprint stage and also sounds the call for the project to be completed by the end of the year.
