On April 6, the mined tunnel between Dongzongxian Station and Maihulu Station in Section 3 of the civil works for Guiyang Rail Transit Line S1, built by China Railway 17th Bureau Group, successfully broke through into the main bore, making it the first section on the entire line to achieve main bore tunnel breakthrough.

It is understood that the tunnel has a total length of 721.5 meters and adopts a composite lining structure. The terrain is complex, and the tunnel crosses the Jing'an Avenue section, where the geological conditions are poor, with many karst caves and soft soil, making it prone to settlement, collapse and other conditions, and posing high construction risks. To ensure a smooth breakthrough, the project department clarified the division of responsibilities, optimized the construction organization, refined and broke down the construction stages, optimized resource allocation, organized expert review of the construction technical plans, and adopted safety assurance measures such as strengthening advanced geological forecasting and monitoring inside the tunnel and advanced support with large pipe roofs, thereby providing guarantees for achieving a safe and smooth tunnel breakthrough.
