On the 20th, the first batch of 143 key projects for 2021 in Baoding City, Hebei Province, commenced construction with a total investment exceeding 100 billion yuan, covering industries such as automobiles and parts, biomedicine and health, high-end equipment manufacturing, and modern services.

Cao Haibo, deputy mayor of Baoding, said that this year the city is focusing on five key areas—“medicine, automobiles, electricity, digital, and tourism”—and has planned a total of 485 key projects at or above the municipal level, with a total investment of 594.198 billion yuan, including 67 provincial key projects. The projects commencing this time involve 22 counties (cities, districts) and development zones, with investment partners including China Minmetals Corporation, Baidu (Hong Kong) Limited, and BBMG Corporation, among others. The construction projects include the Zhuozhou China Minmetals Science and Technology Industrial Park, Baidu Cloud Computing (Phase II), and the Green Building Materials Industrial Park.

The main venue of the day's event was set at the Zhuozhou China Minmetals Science and Technology Industrial Park. According to reports, the park has a total investment of 12 billion yuan and covers an area of 1,500 mu, mainly building the Minmetals Emerging Industry Innovation Base and the headquarters R&D cluster area. After the project is completed, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 4.78 billion yuan and pay taxes of 177 million yuan.

Cao Haibo stated that the city will be guided by “building a new pattern of integrated development of Beijing, Xiong'an, and Baoding, and building a city of quality life within the world-class Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei city cluster,” ensuring support in land, funding, approvals, and other factors, acting as a good “shop assistant” and “waiter” to ensure that the commenced projects are put into production and achieve results as soon as possible.
