According to Guizhou's transportation authorities, more than 90% of the tunnels along the Meishi Expressway have been completed, and the expressway is scheduled to open to traffic by the end of this year.

It is understood that the Meitan-Shiqian Expressway starts on the north side of Kongyanba in Huangjiaba Town, Meitan County, passes through the G56 Hangrui Expressway, G69 Daoweng Expressway, Songyan, Guanxing, Tianqiao, Wujiang, Benzhuang, Wengxi, Longtang, and the S25 Sijian Expressway, and ends at the Shida Expressway, which is currently in the planning and design stage. The total length of the route is 112.977 kilometers, with the main line measuring 93.922 kilometers. The design speed is 100 kilometers per hour on some sections and 80 kilometers per hour on others, and the estimated total investment exceeds 17.8 billion yuan.

In order to shorten the distance from Meitan County and other eastern counties to Zunyi Xinzhou Airport and ease traffic pressure on the Hangrui Expressway, a Zunyi Xinzhou Airport connecting line has been added westward at the starting point of the route. The connecting line passes through Longyan, Sanmeiya, Tianshentang, Majiawan, Fenzui, Maoguan River, Xiaoshuizhai, Yuanquan Village, Qinggangpo, and other locations.

At present, among the 14 tunnels along the entire Meishi Expressway, only the Qinggangpo Extra-Long Tunnel has not yet been completed. The tunnel is 4,995 meters long, with 824 meters remaining on the left tube and 875 meters remaining on the right tube, and it is expected to be completed by the end of August this year. Once the Qinggangpo Extra-Long Tunnel is completed, it will mark the full completion of the Meishi Expressway.
