3月14日，从成兰铁路公司传来消息，成自高铁全线最后一个开工的工程、龙泉山一号隧道完成所有辅助通道挖掘，正式进洞施工。
龙泉山一号隧道长8456米，为全线控制性工程。隧道进口已支撑成型，几台挖掘机在洞口进行挖掘作业，忙碌而有序。从天府站出来约1公里处就到达该隧道，高铁将在洞内完成提速转换。隧道分为250公里/小时、350公里/小时两段不同速度设计。其中，进口3.3公里段为时速250公里隧道，之后5.1公里段为时速350公里隧道。同一洞内、不同时速，隧道的断面、轨道的间距也会有不同。同时，隧道高瓦斯段长5200米，按Ⅰ级高风险隧道进行管理；进口端穿越断层压碎岩，隧道拱部易发生沉降变形。
成自高铁是国家“八纵八横”高速铁路主通道之一“京昆通道”的重要组成部分，是成自宜高铁的一部分，全长约176公里。项目在自贡衔接川南城际铁路自贡至宜宾段，形成全程时速350公里的南向高铁通道。
