This year's municipal government work report proposes to accelerate the preliminary work of the east-west axis connecting Shenzhen (Huiping Expressway) and the riverside axis connecting Guangzhou (Huizhou-Zengcheng Expressway), striving to start construction in October this year. The Municipal Transport Bureau recently publicized the "Huiping Expressway Route Planning Scheme (Draft)" on its official website. According to the scheme, the Huiping Expressway consists of the main line of Huiping Expressway, the Airport Expressway branch, and the Xinxu branch. Upon completion, it will become a fast corridor between Huizhou Airport and Shenzhen.

　　Phase I starts north of Huizhou Airport, designed as dual eight-lane

　　To seize the major opportunities of the "dual-zone" construction, comprehensively promote the construction of the "丰"-shaped road traffic main framework, accelerate the improvement of Huizhou's expressway network, and provide important support for building a new development pattern, the Municipal Transport Bureau took the lead in organizing the compilation of the "Huiping Expressway Route Planning Scheme (Draft)". According to reports, the first phase of the Huiping Expressway starts north of Huizhou Airport, connects to the Guanghui Expressway, and ends in Longgang District, Shenzhen, connecting with the Shenzhen Outer Ring Expressway, with a total length of about 48.5 kilometers.

　　The Huiping Expressway passes through Pingtan Town, Liangjing Town, Yonghu Town, Sanhe Street, Qiuchang Street in Huiyang District, and Pingdi Street in Longgang District, Shenzhen. The route intersects with the Airport Expressway branch, Huiwan Expressway, Yongguan Expressway, Huida Expressway, and Xinxu branch, passes under the Guangshan High-speed Railway, crosses over the Huida Railway, crosses the Xizhi River and Danshui River, and has 5 high-to-high hub interchanges, 9 high-to-ground interchange interchanges, and 2 composite interchanges.

　　The first phase of the Huiping Expressway adopts the technical standard of dual eight-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 km/h and a cross-section width of 42 meters. The second phase starts from the Shenzhen endpoint of the first phase and ends at the Shenzhen Eastern Environmental Protection Power Plant Interchange, connecting with the Changshen Expressway. The entire line is within Longgang District, Shenzhen, with a length of about 6.1 kilometers. The second phase adopts the technical standard of dual six-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 km/h and a cross-section width of 34.5 meters.

　　Airport Expressway branch connects with Hehuiguan Expressway at Sha'ao Hub Interchange

　　In addition to the main line project, the Huiping Expressway also includes the Airport Expressway branch and the Xinxu branch. The Airport Expressway branch consists of an expressway section and a connecting line, adopting the technical standard of dual six-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 km/h and a cross-section width of 34.5 meters. Among them, the expressway section starts at Sha'ao Hub Interchange in Sandong Town, Huicheng District, connects to the Hehuiguan Expressway, and ends at Qingnian Interchange in Pingtan Town, Huiyang District, connecting with the Huiping Expressway main line, National Highway 324, and the airport connecting line, with a length of about 13.9 kilometers. The airport connecting line starts at the end of the airport expressway section, intersects at grade with National Highway 324, passes through the planned new terminal of Huizhou Airport, and ends at the Wutang Interchange of the Guanghui Expressway, with a length of about 6.4 kilometers. It passes through Sandong Town and Ma'an Town in Huicheng District, and Pingtan Town in Huiyang District, intersecting with the Hehuiguan Expressway, Huida Expressway, Huiwan Expressway, Huiping Expressway main line, and Guanghui Expressway, crossing the Xizhi River, and has 2 high-to-high hub interchanges and 1 high-to-ground interchange interchange.

　　The Xinxu branch starts in Qiuchang Street, Huiyang District, connects to the Huiping Expressway main line, and ends in Xinxu Town, Huiyang District, connecting with the planned Xinlong Avenue, with a total length of about 8.4 kilometers. The Xinxu branch intersects with the Huiping Expressway main line and Changshen Expressway, and has the Dapaishan tunnel and the Tangxia hub interchange and Baishidong interchange. The branch adopts the technical standard of dual six-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 km/h and a cross-section width of 34.5 meters.
