On the morning of February 22, shield tunneling was successfully launched on the Financial City–Smart City section of the Pearl River Delta intercity Guangfo Ring East Ring project, marking that the section with the heaviest tasks and the tightest schedule on the entire Guangfo Ring East Ring project has officially entered the shield construction stage.

　　The Financial City–Smart City section tunnel has a total length of 4,313 meters and is located in Tianhe District, Guangzhou. Along the route, it passes beneath important buildings and structures such as Keyun Road, Shenhai Expressway, Guangyuan Expressway, Guangzhou-Shenzhen Railway, Metro Line 21, Metro Line 13, Metro Line 5, Huangpu Avenue, Zhongshan Avenue, and Tangxia Village. The section has complex geological conditions, high construction risks, and high technical requirements.

　　In order to successfully complete the milestone target of shield launching, the Pearl River Delta Intercity Company organized all participating units to start with work such as personnel allocation, resource integration, risk identification and prevention and control, and permit application for passing beneath buildings and structures. They carefully organized and planned, rationally allocated resources, and at the same time intensified external communication and coordination, actively promoting coordination on the height restriction issue at Cencun Airport, which effectively ensured the smooth progress of shield construction. Next, the Pearl River Delta Intercity Company will strictly observe the safety and quality red lines, plan scientifically, organize carefully, and advance solidly to ensure the smooth passage through all high-risk points.
