The Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources recently publicized the "Land Space Planning Revision Plan and Permanent Basic Farmland Supplementary Designation Plan for the Beijing Rail Transit Line 22 (Pinggu Line) Project (Pinggu Section)." All alignments of the project will be adjusted to urban construction land, with the secondary category being transportation facility land. Beijing Subway Line 22 (Pinggu Line) starts in the west at Dongdaqiao Station in the CBD area and ends in the east at Pinggu New Town, passing through Chaoyang District, Tongzhou District, Pinggu District and Sanhe City in Hebei Province. The line is about 81.2 kilometers long and has 21 stations in total. It is the first inter-provincial subway line between Beijing and Hebei. Once completed, it will effectively ensure the regular operation of cross-city public transit lines and help advance the integrated development of transportation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

According to the public notice, the near-term implementation plan of the Pinggu Line has been included in the project database of the second-phase construction plan adjustment of Beijing and was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in 2019, meeting the scope of land use pre-examination for major construction projects occupying permanent basic farmland. In that approval, the Line 22 (Pinggu Line) project was adjusted to run from Dongdaqiao to Pinggu, with the line length adjusted from 78.6 kilometers to 81.2 kilometers, the number of stations changed from 20 to 21, and the use of 8-car trainsets of dual-current Type D urban rail vehicles was studied, with investment adjusted to 63.93 billion yuan.

The public notice shows that the main route of the Line 22 (Pinggu Line) project (Pinggu Section) runs north from Qixinzhang Town in Hebei Province into Pinggu District, passing through Mafang Town, Machangying Town and Daxingzhuang to the Cuixing Road area before turning to an underground alignment, passing beneath the Ru River to Pinggu Station. The total land area in Pinggu District is about 30.44 hectares.

It is worth noting that all alignments of the Line 22 (Pinggu Line) project (Pinggu Section) will be adjusted to urban construction land, with the secondary category being transportation facility land. The project occupies 1.30 hectares of permanent basic farmland, and sufficient supplementary designation has been made in Daxingzhuang Town and Yukou Town, while a permanent basic farmland reserve area has also been sufficiently designated. Interested parties and the public may submit opinions through the official website of the Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources before March 23.
