The reporter learned from the Chaohu City Transportation Bureau that recently, the construction land for the Mingguang-Chaohu Expressway (Hefei Section) and the Shanghai-Wuhan National Expressway (Wuwei-Yuexi Section, Hefei Section) have successively obtained approval from the provincial government. The construction of these two expressways involving Hefei is of great significance to Hefei's external transportation.

　　Mingguang-Chaohu Expressway is the first expressway invested and constructed by Hefei City

　　It is understood that the approved construction land for the Mingguang-Chaohu Expressway (Hefei Section) is 355.7383 hectares, and for the Shanghai-Wuhan National Expressway (Wuwei-Yuexi Section, Hefei Section) is 371.2396 hectares.

　　The Mingguang-Chaohu Expressway starts from the Mingguang Hub Interchange at the intersection of Xuming Expressway and Ningluo Expressway on the northwest side of Mingguang City, runs from north to south, passing through Mingguang City, Fengyang County, Dingyuan County of Chuzhou City, Feidong County of Hefei City, Quanjiao County of Chuzhou City, and Chaohu City of Hefei City (passing through Langanji Town, Suwan Town, Zhegao Town, and Xiage Town of Chaohu City), and ends at the northwest side of Xiage Town in Chaohu City, connecting to Provincial Road G329. The total length of the route is about 132 kilometers, of which about 50.09 kilometers are within Hefei City (29.286 kilometers within Chaohu City).

　　The entire line adopts the construction standard of a two-way four-lane expressway, with a design speed of 120 km/h and a subgrade width of 27 meters. Within Chaohu, one Qinggang service area, one Suwan maintenance work area, two toll stations at Suwan and Xiage West, and one Wuhu-Hefei Expressway interchange hub are set up.

　　The Mingguang-Chaohu Expressway (Hefei Section) is a connecting line of the "Longitudinal One" Xuzhou-Hangzhou Expressway in the "Anhui Province Expressway Network Plan (2016-2030)", one of the key construction projects of Anhui Province during the "13th Five-Year Plan", and the first expressway invested and constructed by the Hefei Municipal Government. Hefei Transportation Investment Holding Co., Ltd. is the project owner responsible for the construction and operation management of the Hefei section of the Mingguang-Chaohu Expressway.

　　Key section of Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway to be opened

　　The Wuwei-Yuexi Section of the Shanghai-Wuhan National Expressway is a section of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway. It starts from Shijian Town, Wuwei City, Wuhu City, connecting to the built Chaohu-Wuwei Section of the Shanghai-Wuhan National Expressway and the north connection line of the Second Wuhu Yangtze River Highway Bridge, passing through Mayan in Lujiang, Fangang in Tongcheng, Chashui in Qianshan, Wuwei City of Wuhu City, Chaohu City of Hefei City (Sanbing Town and Huailin Town), Lujiang County, Tongcheng City, Qianshan County, and Lianyun Township of Yuexi County of Anqing City, ending at the Yuexi North Interchange, connecting to the built Yuexi-Wuhan Section of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway. The total length of the project is about 177.78 kilometers, of which about 62.694 kilometers are within Hefei City (16.165 kilometers within Chaohu City); the entire line adopts the standard of a two-way four-lane expressway with a design speed of 120 km/h.

　　The Wuwei-Yuexi Section (Hefei Section) of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway is a key section for the full connection of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway. It can achieve the full connection of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway, which is of great significance for strengthening the transportation connection between the Wanjiang City Belt and the Yangtze River Delta region, accelerating the undertaking of industrial transfer in the Wanjiang City Belt, and promoting poverty alleviation and development in the concentrated contiguous areas of the Dabie Mountains.
