Recently, the first trench of the diaphragm wall at Dongmen Station of the Fuzhou Binhai Express Line Project was successfully excavated.

The station's diaphragm wall consists of 47 panels in total, planned to be constructed in two phases. Phase I comprises 26 panels, with a wall thickness of 1,000 mm and a depth of 30.5–33.5 m. The wall base penetrates moderately weathered granite and slightly weathered granite, with rock-socketed depths of 2–9 m and an average rock strength of approximately 160 MPa.

The project overcame unfavorable factors including difficulties in traffic diversion in the main urban area, a confined construction site, high safety risks from cross operations, stringent requirements for civilized construction and environmental protection, and labor shortages caused by the approaching year-end and a resurgence of the pandemic. By planning ahead, the project team organized personnel to review and implement each preparatory task item by item before commencement, continuously optimized the construction plan based on actual site conditions, and completed preparatory work—including temporary site facilities, plan review, equipment mobilization, assembly and acceptance, and personnel training—within 15 days, ensuring the first wall panel was excavated on schedule.

The project stated that it will make rational use of existing resources to accelerate construction progress, advance the Phase I retaining structure construction at Dongmen Station, and strive to enter Phase II enclosure construction as early as possible.
