Recently, as the bridge erection machine of the 14th Bureau precisely placed the last 32-meter double-track simply supported box girder onto the piers of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Grand Bridge, it marked the full completion of beam erection construction for the Zhengzhou-Puyang section of the Zhengzhou-Jinan High-Speed Railway, creating favorable conditions for subsequent track laying.
The Zhengzhou-Jinan High-Speed Railway starts from Zhengzhou East Station and ends at Jinan West Station, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is the final project of Henan Province's "rice"-shaped high-speed rail network and also a component of Shandong Province's "four horizontal, six vertical, three ring" comprehensive transportation corridor. It is built in two sections: Zhengzhou to Puyang and Puyang to Jinan. The Zhengzhou-Puyang section has a total length of 197.279 kilometers. The Fifth Company of the 14th Bureau undertook the prefabrication and erection of 586 box girders for the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Grand Bridge within this section.
During construction, the company planned ahead, organized scientifically, fully allocated construction resources, strictly controlled safety and quality, seized the golden construction season, and actively carried out labor competitions. Despite numerous difficulties such as a tight schedule, frequent cross-construction, and the impact of the epidemic, they overcame beam erection challenges including nine cantilever-cast girder crossings, the erection of two 20-meter special-shaped box girders, and the turning around of a 900-ton bridge erection machine, ensuring controllable safety throughout the beam erection construction.
It is reported that after the Zhengzhou-Jinan High-Speed Railway is completed, high-speed trains from Zhengzhou to Jinan will no longer need to detour via Xuzhou, and the travel time will be shortened from the current 3.5 hours to about 1.5 hours, ending the history of no direct high-speed rail connection between Shandong and Henan.
