Recently, the No. 20307 shield machine, independently developed and manufactured by CCCC Tianhe, was successfully received at Jingjiang Station on the Hangzhou Airport Express Line, marking the official breakthrough of the left line of the Jingjiang Station–No. 8 Ventilation Shaft section on the Hangzhou Airport Express Line.

The shield machine has an excavation diameter of 7,150 mm. The breakthrough section has a total length of 1,586 m and was launched from the left line of Jingjiang Station at a launch-end burial depth of 9.71 m. It runs along Yongsheng Road, passing successively beneath Hongfa Bridge and Yongsheng Road Bridge before being received at Ventilation Shaft No. 8 of the section, with a receiving-end burial depth of 20.1 m. The main strata crossed include sandy silt interbedded with silty sand, silty sand, and mucky silty clay. The breakthrough of this shield machine has accelerated the pace of completion of the Airport Express Line. Once completed, the Airport Express Line will strengthen rapid interconnection among Hangzhou West Railway Station, Hangzhou East Railway Station, and Xiaoshan International Airport, enable rapid travel between the western part of the city, mainly Future Sci-Tech City, and the central and eastern parts of the city, and ease traffic congestion pressure in the main urban area.
