On January 9, the left-line shield of the Keshen section (Science City East Station–Shenzhen-Dongguan boundary) of the Shenzhen Rail Transit Line 6 Branch was successfully launched. This marks the launch of all shields across every section of the line, which has now entered the tunnel construction stage.

As of now, both lines of the Zhongke section (Sun Yat-sen University Station–Science City East Station) of the Line 6 Branch have been holed through, and the right-line tunnel of the Cuixin section (Cuihu Station–Xinming Hospital Station) has been successfully holed through. The left-line tunnel of the Cuixin section and the right-line tunnel of the Xinzhong section (Xinming Hospital Station–Sun Yat-sen University Station) are expected to be holed through by the end of January this year.

The Line 6 Branch starts from Guangming Station of Line 6 in Guangming District and ends at the Shenzhen-Dongguan boundary. The line is 6.13 kilometers long in total and has 3 stations and 4 sections. Guangming Station is an interchange station between the Line 6 Branch and Line 6.

Up to now, the main structures of all 3 stations along the line have been topped out, and the commencement rate of ancillary structures is 95%.

Among them, all 6 shields planned for the line have been launched, 3 single-line tunnels have been holed through, and 3 stations have been topped out.
