According to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Expressway Development Center, Guangxi plans to start construction of 30 expressways this year, with a total construction mileage of 2,109 kilometers and an annual planned investment of approximately 140 billion yuan. In the first quarter, it plans to complete an investment of about 33 billion yuan and start construction of 10 expressways.

It is understood that in the first quarter, Guangxi plans to start construction of 10 expressways, including the Hechi (Yizhou) West Ring Line, Baise South Ring Line, and Cangwu to Rongxian, with a construction mileage of 551 kilometers, accounting for one-third of the annual planned starts.

Construction will continue on 43 expressways, including Xindu to Wuzhou and Nandan to Xialao, with a construction mileage of 3,454 kilometers. This year, it plans to complete and open six expressways: Shajing to Wuxu, Wuxu Airport to Long'an, Du'an to Bama, Guilin to Liucheng, Liuzhou via Heshan to Nanning, and Mengshan to Xiangzhou, and add Xincheng County to the expressway network, achieving an expressway access rate of 96.4% for all counties. By the end of this year, the total mileage of expressways in Guangxi will exceed 7,300 kilometers.

This year, Guangxi's expressway construction will fully align with and integrate into the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and further advance the construction of expressway corridors connecting to the Greater Bay Area. It will accelerate the preliminary work of the Bobai to Gaozhou (Guangxi section) expressway project, strive to start construction of the Guangning via Cangwu to Zhaoping (Guangxi section) and Beiliu to Gaozhou expressway projects, and speed up the construction of the Lianshan to Hezhou (Guangxi section), Pubei to Beiliu, and Nanning to Zhanjiang (Nanning to Bobai Nabu section) expressway projects.

"During the '14th Five-Year Plan' period, Guangxi is expected to start and continue construction of 105 expressway projects, with a construction mileage of 8,430 kilometers and an additional 5,200 kilometers completed and opened to traffic," said a responsible person from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Expressway Development Center. By the end of the '14th Five-Year Plan', the total mileage of expressways open to traffic in Guangxi is expected to reach 12,000 kilometers, fully realizing expressway access for all counties.
